How can you trust the opinion of a teenager calling Messi the best player ever?
What ever happen to Pele, Best, Maradona, Ronaldo, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Zidane, Platini, Ronaldinho , Garrincha and others fella?.
You MUST do well at the biggest stage (World Cup) in order to be among the greatest.

Football Legends like Cryuff, Pele, Ronaldo, Maradona, Zoff, Zidane, Basten…etc all played well no matter what shirt they wore, we wont know if Messi deserves that title until the day comes when he leaves Barca. If Messi stays at Barca sure he’ll be a Barcelona legend but he wont be a football legend.
I have to disagree with some people Messi is a good player but nowhere near football legend status.
How he won golden boot this year is beyond me since as much to my knowledge he didnt win anything outside of Spain nor played very good at the WC.

Zlatatan Ibrahimovic is good, but he’s not Zidane, Mesut Ozil is way talented but lets be honest, he’s too untested to be called little diego (or whatever his nickname is). Lionel Messi is good and i agree that he’s fun to watch… i guess, not really… maybe a little sometimes. but you know it gets old, this notion that your infallable argentine god can run circles around cristiano ronaldo. who by the way has proven himself in the premier league
@turkyish my point is that lionel messi is good, but he’s not THAT good so all you barca fans need to calm down a little, i mean the guy has blundered enough to show that he is no god. Commentators will be like “the stars aligned and messi was born,” saying stuff like he should not be mentioned in the same sentence as Cristiano Ronaldo…
The idea of Messi choking in the champions league is a joke right? Can people not remember when Arsenal took the lead against Barca last year…. and then Messi knocked 4 in during crunch time?
Or remember last night for that matter when he knocked one in only to have it wrongly called offside…
You can’t speak for national performances because the complexion of the team is completely different but in Barca Messi is widely recognised as the best in the world
@comeonchelsea1998 No it is because he is a choker- If you watch him closely, you will notice that he does strange things under pressure in big games. A lot of people don’t know this, but trust me, his biggest problem is that he bottles it in big games especially in the champions league and world cup.
his record is amazing but whenever i watch him is is shit like in the world cup and in the champions league. maybe the only reason he scores so much is cos the spanish league isnt as good as the the mighty british prem

Messi is the king of small games and a choker in big games as we saw last night, the world cup, semi against inter last year, the semi against Chelsea the previous year. Occasionally Messi will score in big games, but most of the times he chokes, and quite often he is completely anonymous – ie Champions league semi final against inter and champions league semi final against Chelsea
His third choke was the one where he put the ball into the side netting when it was setup for him to chip the keeper. He chipped when chipping was the wrong option(first chance) and didn’t chip when chipping was the right option(third chance). Basic decisions that he normally gets right, he got wrong in this match, and clearly the pressure got to him.
Messi’s second choke also came in the first half, and this one hasn’t been talked about much, but it was another strange choke. He dribbled past the defence and made space for himself on his right foot and basically just chipped the ball weakly into the keepers hands – He had time to bring it onto his left or even dribble forward into the space, but instead he choked and his mind froze once again.
Messi is such an overrated little choker. He choked once again last night against Arsenal. Messi choked his three big chances. His first one was the worst because it was a decision making type of choke – He did the wrong thing and tried to be too cute and that happens when you are nervous or choking under the pressure – You try too hard. When you see the replay, it was clear Messi had a space to shoot into at the keepers near post but for some bizarre reason he tried a chip – A pure choke.
