@yasht86 messi was in a great team and started his career with barca, maradona had just 2 years with barca and was injured most time but he achieved a lot with a shit team like napoli and a weak argentina team.

Maradona was in barcelona for few years and broke his leg so he was injured for a year.
When he was fit he played amazing and i he scored 22 goals in 36 games which is pretty impressive after such injuries.
Beside that barcelona was not such a great team at that time.

Guys be fair… It is not the world cup that makes a player better than another. Messi did it in big games too, even with Argentina (more like assists). If Argentina lost the 1986 final, would it make Maradona any less? Anyway, I noticed that Messi dribbles with much less physical contact than Maradona. Messi is faster than Maradona and have a little bit quicker mind. Lefts are about the same. Right is better for Maradona in dribbling, and for Messi in shooting. And FYI, Messi is just starting!
if you put a video of both of them before they were 23 years old it would be messi’s against an empty clip. all those maradona videos are from when he was older, messi still beats him with a lot of time left to acomplish a lot more. the only reason people stills says maradona is better is because of the tendency to believe that the best things are from the past. and the ones who say maradona did it in crappy teams and messi in barcelona, well maradona got his shot in barcelona…

Pero creo que los destellos de máximo nivel que tuvo Diego no tuvieron la regularidad y continuidad de las actuaciones de 10 que está dando Leo al fútbol.
